White-footed Ants

What do white-footed ants look like?

White-footed ants are black or brown in color and have pale-yellowish colored feet.  They have a one-segmented waist, and a 12- segmented antennae with no club on the end.  They are a fairly small species with adults growing to be about 2.7 mm in length.

Are white-footed ants dangerous?

White-footed ants are not considered to be dangerous because they do not bite or sting.  While they may not be dangerous, they are a huge nuisance for homeowners to deal with because of their extremely large colony size of up to 3 million members.  This species is very difficult to eradicate from homes.
